What are the signs of God?

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are SIGNS for those of understanding - Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth (Quran)

And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge. Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth. Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. (29:43-44)

Verily in the heavens and the earth are SIGNS for the believers. And in your creation, and what He scattered of moving creatures are signs with people of sure faith,” (Quran 45:3-4)"

Is God one or many?

Say He is God the One God, the Everlasting Refuge, who has not begotten, nor has been begotten, and equal to Him is not anyone. (Quran chapter 112)

He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: NO SON HAS HE BEGOTTEN, NOR HAS HE A PARTNER IN HIS DOMINION; it is He Who created all things, and ordered them in due proportions. (Quran 25: 2)

God has no like or equal “(The Qur'an, 42:11)

Why can’t be three Gods, or more?

And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs. (Quran 4:171)

Allah HAS NOT TAKEN ANY SON, NOR HAS THERE EVEN BEEN WITH HIM ANY DEITY. [If there had been/If there were many gods], then each deity would have taken what it created, and some of them would have sought to OVERCOME OTHERS. Exalted is Allah above what they describe [concerning Him]. (Quran 23:91)

What's the purpose of human life?

He has 'created the heavens and the earth in just proportions, and has given you shape, and made your shapes beautiful: and to Him is the final Goal.
[64: At-Tagabun-3]

“Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?” (Quran 23:115)

[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving (Quran 67:2)

To Him is your return all together. [It is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. Indeed, He begins the [process of] creation and then repeats it that He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds, in justice. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for what they used to deny. (Quran)

If there's a God. Why does God put difficulties to mankind?

Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe," without being put to the test? (Quran 29:2)

[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving (Quran 67:2)

Or you think that YOU WILL ENTER PARADISE WITHOUT SUCH (TRIALS) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty, ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who had faith with him said, 'When will the Help of Allah come?' Yes! Indeed Allah's help is close!" (Quran 2:214)

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient. Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return."Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided. [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving (Quran 67:2)

We will surely test you through some fear, hunger, and loss of money, lives, and crops. Give good news to the steadfast. (Quran 2:155)

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient (Quran 2:155)

Allah does not charge a self (anything) except its capacity; it has whatever it has earned, and against it is whatever it has acquired. Our Lord, do not take us to task in case we forget or we make mistakes. Our Lord, and do not burden us with an obligation as You burdened (the ones) who were before us. Our Lord, and do not over-burden us with whatever is beyond our capability. And be clement towards us, and forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Supreme Patronizer, so give us victory over the disbelieving people. (Quran 2:286)

Should we chase all the goodness on earth?

Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you1, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw1. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment“. [57:20]

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things)“. [102:1]

Yet still you prefer the life of the world, when the hereafter is better and longer lasting. (Surat al-A'la, 16-17)

Lo! those who expect not the meeting with Us but desire the life of the world and feel secure therein, and those who are neglectful of Our revelations,

Should we totally abandon all the goodness on earth and be a monk like?

Heck no. Islam is all about moderation.

Seek the home of the Hereafter by that which Allah has given you, but do not forget your share of the world. (Quran 28:77)

Allah intends for you ease, and does not want to make things difficult for you" (Quran 2:185)

And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path) (Quran 87:8

And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham (Quran 22:78)

Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So DO NOT CLAIM YOURSELF TO BE PURE; He is most knowing of who fears Him. (Quran 53:32)

Religion is very easy, and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded. (Hadith)

Beware of excessiveness in religion. Indeed excessiveness in religion caused those [nations] before you to perish (Hadith)

Are all the efforts here on earth worth it?

And whoever obeys God and the Messenger – those will be with the ones upon whom God has bestowed favor – of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions!” (Quran 4:69)

But those who have faith and work righteousness, they are companions of the garden. Therein shall they abide forever" (2:82).

For such the reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing underneath - an eternal dwelling. How excellent a recompense for those who work (and strive)!" (3:136).

Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a garden whose width is that (of the whole) of the heavens and of the earth, prepared for the righteous" (3:133)

Allah hath promised to Believers, men and women, gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein, and beautiful mansions in gardens of everlasting bliss. But the greatest bliss is the good pleasure of Allah. That is the supreme felicity" (9:72).

And when you look there (in Paradise) you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion.” (Quran 76:20)

And We shall remove from their breasts any (mutual) hatred or sense of injury (which they had, if at all, in the life of this world)…” (Quran 7:43)

No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do.” (Quran 32:17)

Bricks of gold and silver, and mortar of fragrant musk, pebbles of pearl and sapphire, and soil of saffron. Whoever enters it is filled with joy and will never feel miserable; he will live there forever and never die; their clothes will never wear out and their youth will never fade.” (Ahmad, at-Tirmidhi, ad-Daarimee)

There will be no hatred or resentment among them, their hearts will be as one, and they will glorify God, morning and evening.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari)

Indeed may you be healthy and never be sick again, may you live and never die again, may you be young and never grow feeble again, may you enjoy, and never feel sorrow and regret again.” (Saheeh Muslim)
